What's new in 2012?

In 2012, we’re expecting a busy time in the desktop virtualisation industry. We have the classic solutions that we pay attention to from Citrix, VMware, Quest, and Microsoft, but with new releases from them and Windows 8 on the horizon, there’s lots to talk about. We also have application virtualisation and user environment management as part of that mix, just to make it more interesting. In addition to that, technologies surrounding cloud services, BYOC, BYOD, security, mobile device management, and consumerisation are becoming more relevant and important each month.

BriForum is the only technical event that is 100% dedicated to desktop virtualisation, VDI, application virtualisation, Remote Desktop Services, and the consumerisation of IT. This is your exclusive opportunity to participate in 30+ technical breakout sessions led by expert speakers who provide the most independent, advanced, technical information and best practices around this constantly evolving space. Top-notch industry analysts, bloggers and best-selling authors will tackle these issues and technologies head on and offer the latest tips, tricks, and verified techniques that can be applied immediately within your organisation. They talk honestly and openly about technical challenges they have faced, how they solved them, what works and what does not work.

Among other things, they’ll look at how User Environment Management solutions can help with OS migrations, whether they’re to physical or virtual machines. In addition, find out how application virtualisation’s role in the virtual desktop space is critical to the success of a project, not to mention the specifics of VDI and Server-Based Computing. And, gain insight into emerging technologies and how BYOPC, BYOD, Mobile Device Management, and Consumerisation are affecting companies today.

BriForum attendees are also able to interact with over 20 of the top solution providers in the Demo Lab where each and every participating vendor is required to have hands-on working demonstrations of their technology and senior level technical staff on site to answer tough questions--free from hype.

In addition, there’s plenty of time to network with peers, speakers, and sponsors during the show as well as during evening events, such as the Geek Out party. Don’t miss out on this one-of-a-kind conference. Register today!

Why Attend?

You have most likely attended countless vendor conferences hungry for good, practical, and relevant technical content. Have you been disappointed at these commercial conferences due to the lack of in-depth technical content ("advanced" sessions that are really very basic), off-topic content, or content that is total propaganda?

Well, good news - BriForum is different.

Our eleventh BriForum promises to once again provide massive amounts of solid technical content. There will be dozens of expert presenters who will lead over 30 technical breakout sessions. Plus, the recorded sessions will be made available online for all attendees after the show.

Just starting out with your desktop virtualisation initiatives? BriForum is a technical conference, but there is plenty of content for everyone from true heavy-hitters to less experienced administrators who are trying to wrap their heads around what's going on in this ever-changing industry.

Need a few more reasons? Discover the top five reasons you need to attend this event here:

#5:

Designed to be interactive.

Come prepared to discuss your organisation’s requirements, challenges and projects. With attendance limited to 200 attendees, you’ll have plenty of time to mingle with the experts (consisting of top-notch industry analysts, bloggers and best-selling authors) who will be leading the technical sessions. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with your peers from around the globe who are dealing with the same issues you are during both daytime and evening activities. Share best practices and lessons learned.

#4:

Perfect Timing & Location.

Why May? Why London? We polled previous BriForum attendees and they told us that for a European show, London combines an easy to reach travel destination that offers plenty of activities, fine dining, and family-oriented fun. Also, May is the ideal month to seek new technology for inclusion in the second half of 2012 and projects for the upcoming calendar year.

#3:

The Most Relevant Technologies.

In 2012, we're expecting a busy time in the desktop virtualisation industry. We have the classic solutions that we pay attention to from Citrix, VMware, Quest, and Microsoft, but with new releases from them and Windows 8 on the horizon, there's lots to talk about. We also have application virtualisation and user environment management as part of that mix, just to make it more interesting. In addition to that, technologies surrounding cloud services, BYOC, BYOD, security, mobile device management, and consumerisation are becoming more relevant and important each month.

At BriForum, our independent experts will review these technologies and tell you what's real vs. what's hype, what works vs. what doesn't. Among other things, they'll look at how User Environment Management solutions can help with OS migrations, whether they're to physical or virtual machines. In addition, find out how application virtualisation's role in the virtual desktop space is critical to the success of a project, not to mention the specifics of VDI and Server-Based Computing. And gain insight how BYOPC, BYOD, Mobile Device Management, and Consumerisation are affecting companies today.

Also, in our BriForum DEMO Lab, you'll have the chance to interact with the top solution providers in the industry. Each and every participating vendor is required to have hands-on working demonstrations of their technology and senior level technical staff on site to answer tough questions--free from hype.

#2:

Independent Expert Content

BriForum is the only technical event that is 100% dedicated to desktop virtualisation, VDI, application virtualisation, Remote Desktop Services, and the consumerisation of IT. While providing best practices and strategies, our independent, expert speakers will also talk honestly and openly about technical challenges they have faced, how they solved them, what works and what does not work.

#1:

Best Value for your Money.

Get all the tips and strategies you need to implement immediately at your company to save time, money and countless headaches!

How to Convince Your Boss

Need to convince your boss? Here's our template letter

One of the things that we've heard from people over the past few years is, "I'm sold on coming to BriForum, but now I need to justify it to my boss." To that end, we've put together this template letter that you can cut and paste to give to your boss.

Attendee Testimonials

See what your peers have said about our past BriForum events:

This is by far the best conference. There is really a sense of community cooperation and involvement... and we do not always need to agree. I love being in a session and the presenter is talking about a particular technology and the person next to me is the person wholly or partially responsible for creating the technology.”

BriForum is an awesome event, the content alone is worth going for even if I had to sleep in a tent outside.”

“I like the community feel. It’s rare that you attend a conference where you have all access to the presenters during and after the conference hours to discuss information.”

“Most enjoyable conference I've participated in. I'll definitely be back next year.”

“The quality of the speakers and topics were very well done for this tech-centric crowd.”

“So many good presentations full of great information covering an excellent range of topics. Wish I could attend again and see the ones I missed.”

"It was great having a real Citrix and Microsoft presence there. I had a chance to sit down with both groups and get some real one-on-one time. I know not everyone did it, nor would there be that type of offering; however, I did it, and I am that much for fulfilled because of it. The sessions were great, but I got LOADS of information in those two "private encounters."

“I enjoyed bouncing ideas off of vendors and Brian Madden himself. It is nice to interact with other people who are dealing with the same potential problems we are.”

“This was my first time and I must say it was the best technical conference I've ever attended in 15+ years of IT. I will be back even if my boss doesn't pay.”
